Corpus Christi Festival: a deep-rooted, colourful tradition
Once again, Valencia embraces the celebration of Corpus Christi: one of the city's most deeply rooted traditions, where the pagan and the religious intertwine to offer the faithful, tourists, and the curious a unique cultural experience.
The association “Amics del Corpus València” has prepared a special program so that everyone interested can be part of this festivity.
Participate in the Transfer of the Rocas—monumental and spectacular ancient carts, traditional to the Valencian Corpus, pulled from the Museum of the Rocas to the Plaza de la Virgen by adorned horses—and dance to the rhythm of the Dance of the Moma—symbolizing the struggle between virtue and the seven deadly sins—and the Giants and Big-Heads.
Join the Convite Cavalcade—representing the invitation made by the jurors of Valencia to the authorities and the people to attend the Corpus Procession—refresh yourself with the mythical poalà, and enjoy the rest of the scheduled activities to celebrate the city's so-called festa grossa (grand festival).
